I recently bought a Mjolnir 2 so I was considering buying/making a balanced cable for HD 650s to take advantage of the M2's full potential.
However, when taking a closer look at the HD650's cable connectors, I realised there are only 2 connections per channel, while balanced cables have 3 connections per channel. Unless I'm mistaken, I thought the point of a balanced cable was to have two signal wires and one ground per channel to eliminate interference.
So, what's the difference between a HD 650 balanced cable and a SE cable with a 4-pin XLR adaptor? Could someone please tell me what I'm missing?
Thanks!
P.S. Schiit doesn't recommend using a Balanced-to-SE adapter on the M2's balanced outputs so I'd like to make sure I'm not screwing anything up.
