Urm, I don't think its a good idea to use any headphone with any speaker's (perhaps, save the videologic siros... something) headphone out, let alone a HD600. Get use to swapping analog outs between the speaker and headphones, but to answer your question, the HD600 generally prefers having an amp between it and its source.
