Lol, 4 are more than enough to last you for a decade. Besides, the VSD7 might be even more to your liking, why spend the money on something you already have x4. Thanks for the impressions btw, the Havi sounds like an interesting piece of kit. I do worry about the long sustain though, which in reality must be a long decay in the impulse response of the diaphragm. It's probably what gives all that sense of space, but it is also probably messing with the lower range. I'd be interested in hearing some tonality comparisons between the Havi, the Tenores and the Gr07 if you don't mind, most of the complains i've read about the Havi describe it as sounding unnatural (maybe it's just the reverb though).

It's interesting that people find the B3's unnatural sounding especially compared to the GR07's. I'm writing a review of them now and I can't help but feel that the VSonic's don't recreate any space around sounds in the midrange. They're too dry to sound natural (IMO) but that could explain why they perform so well in terms of attack & decay. I guess it's also a preference thing 'cause when I heard the B3's I knew they suited my tastes much more than the GR07's. Either way, I'll link my review here when I'm done so anyone on this thread interested in them can get a feel for what they sound like.

Oh, is there an article for the VSD7? I'm really curious.

Same here. I found the Havi's better overall and sounds more natural than GR07. Actually, it is what I can ask from my beloved unfiltered Ath IM50s with better detail, more crispy and forward treble which makes Havi's airer and bigger soundstage with more width and depth.

Guys, can someone make a very quick comparison between the Havi's and the RE-400's? I would really apreciate that, thanks!

I think Havi are good for slow recordings(Jazz, blues) where soundstage from havi can create some magic. But for fast paced songs or busy music passages I think because of decay everything gets mixed and congested really fast.

How do you guys think the Havi does with rock and metal? I hate when everything gets congested, and I hadn't heard this about the Havi yet.

Could you please post some of the music (just the names, I'll find it myself) that causes everything to get mixed and congested on the B3's. Nothing I've ever listened to with them has made me hear that so I'm curious.

This track SHOULD give problems with any quality equipment - it is VERY poorly recorded/mastered.

When looking for any meaningful comment on the SQ of certain Technics loudspeakers, I stumbled upon this track by Herd of Humans

which was mastered on said speakers. It is much above clarity usually amplified music is recorded with; the only regret is that the dynamic range could have been higher. It is also still uploaded on YT but for some reasons it no longer starts.

The moral was clear - if mastering of this calibre was possible with unmodified Technics speakers, there was no other way for me but to get a pair and see what can be done with them. It was more work than anticipated - but so were the results ultimately achievable !
