Havi B3 Pro-1 Impressions Thread

That was a hell of a lunch hour, I have to say, I am extremely impressed.

My Phonak Audeo were around £90 and at the time I found them to be very good. Now they seem veiled and muddy when compared to the Havi which only cost me £40!

As all the reviews mention, the soundstage and instrument separation is superb. I was hearing things like little kick drums in the background that I had never heard before.

I am going to have a struggle with tips. I want to use the comply because they isolate the best, which I prefer. BUT, the senn doubles and the white single flange do give a much better soundstage.

On the bass front I am perfectly happy, I think as long as the tip gets a good seal the bass is enough without getting in the way of the loooooovely mids.

Absolute bargain & much looking forward to hearing them after burn in, I'm am seriously glad I stumbled upon this thread.

I keep getting confused when people refer to the C5.  I can't tell if they mean jds labs c5 or cayin c5!  also senn ie800 and shure se846!  Our hobby has too many products now

I concur!!!  Top notch portable headphone amp.  Can't wait what they are going to come up with N6.

This is good news and bad news ...get X1 or N6 DAP ....mmmmmmmmmm

Any news on release date for retail for N6 and price wise ...?

Thanks

Wokei

N6 all the way.

It might cost 300,but that is wishful thinking.

They will announce it sometime next week or later.

I had a short email exchange with Cayin last night, they are hinting at release date of either end of October or beginning of November.  I kind of got an impression the design is not finalized yet, because they mentioned about pictures we are seeing floating around and them trying to get a feedback if people like the design.  Someone else mentioned a price of $300 to $350, not sure where they got it from or if that was just a speculation.  But considering we are not talking about touch screen, and the price of their C5 amp - that sounds reasonable.

X1 is still a fun bargain for under $100, and you can always "upgrade" it by switching to LO output and using different external amps.  Or perhaps, wait until November when someone will review N6.

But what I am wondering is:
How it sounds?
Compatibility with B3?
Durability?
User friendly?
Firmware bugs?
