Havi B3 Pro-1 Impressions Thread

u guys who hv owned custom iems,
How high up would u rate the Havi b3 against customs ..say sound quality
Just give me a rough fix...60%...80% as good?
( I hvnt own a custom b4)

It's more of a value/performance comparsion once you start going over $300+

For instance, the Dunu DN-2000 technically has a little bit more detail and a slight V sig. For some, they would like that better than the B3. On the Dunu however, if I didn't use the Comply tips, it sounded ear piercing. I found that I had way more enjoyment in a $60 IEM (I paid $45 when it first came out!) than a $300 one. The Dunu was then sold.

It may be the same with customs. I wouldn't doubt these could hang with some $600+ customs, but not overtake them. They are probably more neutral than many CIEMs as well. The value scale leans heavily in favor of the Havi.

Not a custom but couple of months ago at a head fi meet I was strongly considering getting a custom, the noble 4. Gave them a quite a long listen at the meet while switching off the havi constantly. Came to the conclusion that while the noble 4 were better in certain aspects they really weren't to me earth shattering different and some things I actually prefer on the havi. Fast forward a few months and I got lucky at a raffle and got a pair of universal noble 4. After having both now for a few months I'll still maintain my position that the noble 4 while technically better in things like sub bass and details the havi I would say soundstage is bigger and is really great value for their price.

I just looked on lmue and it's looking like they just raised the price of everything by 18%... Havis show as us$78 which is still just $64

EDIT: Looks like this was just a weird mobile browser issue. It definitely shows as USD$78 on my tablet, but on my computer it shows the right values.

They are still $64. You have to change the currency to USD.

Is the KC06A supposed to be an upgrade to the KC06? From what I've read, apart from enhanced bass, it seems to fix treble issues while retaining the same mid-centric sound.

I'll defer to someone who has had both. I only have the KC06, but fwiw I don't feel there are any treble issues to fix. Also, if you tape over the stem ports on the kc06 (and pinprick them if desired), the bass is enhanced. I would typically be all over getting the KC06A's, but I'm very happy with the KC06's.

Edit: actually, see this:

I was mostly listening to bassy music like edm and so on when I was comparing the two kc06 but I listen to a wide variety of genres overall. Highs on the kc06a are slightly different than the kc06, bit more peaky on the kc06a. For you I would say the kc06 would be the better choice, overall sound is darker with the kc06a as a result of the increase in bass and mids have become tad recessed.

I concur with the kc06A being recessed midrange.. I have put 125hrs and the have transformed more the out of the box...detail retrieval is amazing but fluid and natural, treble is extended and effortless and bass is balanced with the midrange perfectly and soundstage reproduction improved in depth:D

Which did you prefer in the end, KC06 or Havi, which one would you take on a deserted island mochill?
