I'm mainly asking about the Monolith mx7000, but I'd like to get as much info as I can on this line of players. I know that their output is incredible for a portable player (28mW per channel) and they play lots of audio formats, however I can't find any reviews by head-fiers. Unfortunately it has an S/N ratio of 93, which is the biggest reason I'm not sure about buying one.

It's probably more like 90db since companies typically use A-Weighted measurements. Still, 90db isn't that bad.

I tried one from ebay not so long ago. (It had been used, but allegedly not much). I landed up sending it back because the sound was distorted on quite a few files. Ignoring the distortion, I didn't find it any better than my son's Muvo TX.
