Has anyone tried to reinforce their IEM BEFORE they break?

Hey guys, so I'm picking up a pair of RE0's, and have in recent years had 2 sets of er6i's break on me. I was thinking if there is an effective way to reinforced the connections, be it with tape, glue, rubber, etc. I mean around the wire that connects to the drivers and where the cable meets the 3.5in jack.

Has anyone ever experimented with something like this?

I thought of that, but wouldn't a piece of heatshrink you could actually fit the drivers through be too big?? Know what I mean? You can't cut heatshrink lengthwise and then have it seal can you?

Very good point, always wondered how to put heatshrink on a cable before it breaks.
Cmon guys there must be a good MacGyver method to save a cable before its too late.

There's not much you can do... it'll just break elsewhere.

If you're feeling ballsy, you could just replace the entire cable with a braided one. That ought to hold up well.

The RE0 already has good strain reliefs on the housing end of the cables. I'd be more worried about the housing splitting and the plug end of the cord.

Simply buy one with replacable cables.
