With all the upper-end AKG padrolling, I was wondering if anyone had given it a whirl with the k601/701. If not, I spose I'll have to when my 2nd k601 shows up

Yes, I tried K701 pads on a K601.
That wasn't bad at all.
Not much difference with the original pads. To my ears a slight improvement, but I wasn't to sure.
Maybe a bit wider soundstage, and a bit more weight to the overall sound.
