I'd take the good advice given here, go to a community college for two years, spend two more years at a university, get a bachelor's (don't even bother with an associate's degree - I think a lot of employers would say that seeing an associate's degree on a resume, even if they went on to get higher degrees, has a negative look to it), etc. I wouldn't do the ITT-route, and I certainly wouldn't pay university rates for the first two years of your education.

Even if all you want is an associate's, go the community college route.

Can you tell me why your friends regretted it?

I just came back from the store and my friends mom works there and she asked me what i am planning to do after school. I told her about ITT and ISU. She said screw ITT, she went there when she was 19 and they screwed her over by making false promisis.

How do you not get accepted to ITT (serious question)? I know a guy who went in knowing little, and came out knowing little but quite a bit poorer. He wasn't exactly the best student as far as coming out of high school. With all the TV ads and such it seems like they are selling to the lowest common denominator.

"Before attending blah blah Tech I would just get high, now only after 3 years I'm high...TECH! And my family couldn't be prouder!"

No offense but seriously those ads look to me to be as great an idea as going on the subway diet to shed some serious pounds, and making sure I keep Larry H Parker in mind if I need legal counsel. I think some employers see it the same way. As such you end up paying hefty tuition fees for that? I have seen some tech school students get ok help desk jobs but these are not exactly what you would call stable jobs, or jobs that would pay off your loans in any time soon. I'd agree that a state college is a much much better choice, and they aren't going to hold either your hand or wallet as much.

Well it has pretty good layout, i guess. 3 day weeks Mon-Wed. Which leaves me time to work the other days i have off. School is from 8am-3pm (i think), its not to big, they help you in everything ( looking for apartments, jobs, fill out resumes, but i'm sure they do that at a regular university), and all the classes are in one building. Also its in Boise only 150miles from home.

I am also accepted for Idaho State University but I applied for Bachloers in Computer Programming. It'll be cheaper, and i could live with my sister but i dont really want to do programming (Why did I apply for that?

). ISU is in Pocatello which is only 125miles from my house. Damn what should i do?

Um, isn't ITT Tech like a community college, meaning it's impossible to NOT be accepted?

What about Boise State University? That's where I got my EE degree. It has quite a few more programs that ISU. You might consider living in the dorms there or even renting a place with a few other people. As far as working while you go to school, I'd think that Boise would have many more opportunities for work than Pocatello, particularly for internships, which are the key to getting a good job if you're going into a technology field. Besides, if you're considering ITT Tech, you might as well jump on BSU - it's right across the street from BSU.

And as far as technology fields go, BSU has the game cornered in Idaho. There's so much tech development going on in Boise.

Money is always a consideration, but, all things being equal, pick the school that will let you study in the area that you like. It's well worth making some financial sacrifices for four or five years to get the degree.

Run away! It's a scam! Boise State, CC, anything else.
Don't mean to put you down for considering it. Just trying to state my opinion in no uncertain terms. I've taught at the univ. and CC levels and ITT strikes me as a place for lost and desperate souls. The $ is also ridiculous IMO.
