when I listen to songs by rihanna or songs with a lot of s's in them the voices sound really hissy. I have an xb-40 and generally they have good reviews. So is this normal or do I have a fake pair of buds. The bass on the other hand is better than my Skullcandy FMJ's.
i dont know how sibilant the xb40s are, but some artists today are terribly overproduced.
ive listened to some albums on my iems and just turned them off because of overproduced vocals.
i prefer to hear the timbre of a real voice over a layered voice with an aural exciter.
Sorry i didnt quite answer you question, but if your iem is consistently sibilant no matter what you listen to maybe you should consider another set of iems.
