I am a great fan of the VST plugin TB Isone and occasionally use other VSTs, particularly equalizers.
But right now I have a challenge that has me stumped. I just put together a second headphone setup using a Chromecast Audio. Right now, the signal chain is this:
NAS---(WiFi)--->Chromecast Audio---(optical output)--->Meier Daccord (DAC)--->Meier Classic (headamp)
I don’t have any way to insert the TB Isone VST at the NAS source, and Chromecast itself does not provide any way to use VSTs.
So here’s my question: does anyone know of a simple digital hardware VST host that I could insert between the Chromecast Audio and the DAC? I can’t find one. Alternatively I suppose I could use a barebones NUC for this purpose; has anyone out there seen such a setup?
