Not sure where to put this thread since it kinda fits in a few categories (Source, Portable etc). Mods please move this thread if you feel that I posted it in the wrong category.

I am looking for a hard disk based source with an optical or digital coax out that I can put through my DAC.

One thing, I do not want a PC. I am not picky, it can be a portable player or a full sized component and it only needs to support a lossless format, any one will do, any support for compressed formats will be a bonus.

Anyone know of anything that fits my description on the market?

Thanks in advance.

iRiver H-140 is an ipod-like device that has a digital optical out. (Not the nicest interface, but it works, and is easily availiable)

Not sure if it supports flac or ape, but definitely supports wav and mp3

Cambridge Audio has just launched a similar device as a part of their Azur line.

This one should be a lot easier to grab, at least when it hits the shelves in a little while. Although I do like the look of that German machine a bit more and it also supports Flac unlike the Azur.
