I've quite a lengthy drive for the holidays tomorrow, so in advance I wanted to wish all Head-Fiers a Happy Thanksgiving. So much to be thankful for each and every day, including numerous members on this forum. Best wishes to all.

Being in the UK (and having never read up anything about it) I have no clue what Thanksgiving is actually all about other then people getting together and saying what they are thankful for ... but then again family/friends all getting together for a good dinner and to spend time together - that's cool all by itself whatever the reason is.

It stems from the traditional harvest celebrations like we also have 'em in Europe - for example, the German version is the "Erntedankfest". More info on the US variant and what it has to do with turkeys, pilgrims, Indians et cetera over there: http://www.history.com/minisites/thanksgiving/
