i've lurking here for a while looking for some nice headphones, at first i thought about shure e2c,the ety's and back and forth ,but i finally decided on the etymotic er6
These things are great phones but i have two questions:
1. how much isolation are these suppose to give you , cause when i dont have music turned up loud i can still hear stuff and when i have the music turned off or its changing tracks i can stillhear myself typing?
2.i hear alot of hiss and i have to turn the music up loud to get it to go away

one guy sugessted a inline volume controller/atenuator i have seen those at radio shack would this help it kinda seems like a cheap fix.
other than those two things these phones are great waaaaay better IMO
than sony mdr ex71sl. even without a eq they have great bass but its more of a heard not felt bass ,and they great detail i really am hearing things i never heard before.
