That explains why my otherwise incredibly quiet Chinese student tenants have been whooping it up today. I was wondering what had gotten into them.

They call this time of year "kitayski moroz" (Chinese Frost) here, because it is usually the coldest time of the year. Luckily it is not too bad today...only -11 Celcius (12.2 F). Normally it is at least -15...Anyway, happy Chinese New Year...it should be a big party here, as almost half the population is Chinese.

Hey, you don't have to be Chinese to join the party dude. Actually, I am Spanish/Basque/Morrocan/German/Aztec and Tarasco, with a little Hebrew and perhaps African thrown in. Think that mix is funny, I had a g-friend who was Pole/French/Aztec/African, but some people would think she was from China for some reason. And that's reason enough for me to celebrate too!
