I'm grateful for the kind words, and I really feel undeserving, but I'm 58 today, so make it go away! My brother will turn 60 in March. When I was still in my twenties, I was told by a friend's father: "Dennis, don't ever get old." He's passed away, and for me, doing some of the things I did then is not as easy.
My advice to the young: Push the envelope now, and push it hard. Soon enough, it will be pushing you, so get in the first blow.
BTW, I got an e-mail from my best friend, who has moved to Prague. He may be going on to Samara, in Russia. He said his car is mine to use and enjoy, so I need to get in touch with the fellow who has been trying to sell it. Maybe this is the best birthday after all...
