Anyone know about the hammerfall HDSP9652 or HDSP9636 soundcards for home studio's? I'm thinking about buying one from ebay but I don't really know much about them - especially how techo they are. I really want something thats just plug and play; every home studio salesman I've met raves about them but I just can't afford the $1300AU they'd cost to buy new down here.

So I kind of need the info without the sales pitch.

Any input appreciated!

thanks!

Yes,but, 9632 does have analog output, and low impedance 75ohmi headphones out.

Would the 9652 be overkill for a computer-as-transport? I need the word clock in.

I'm thinking of purchasing a 9632 for a new home cinema system and using the computer as a source of HD content.

This card has been out for a while, would there be a better choice these days? It would have to work on Vista.
