My MG Head OTL is about 10 months old. I put in new tubes about 6 months ago. All JJ Teslas.

One of the output tubes, 6blah, not the 12blah, went. Hope that was all. Now I have one Tesla and one Sovtek.

Time for another brand of tube.

Sometimes. Now I leave it on all the time.

I think the tube was bad from new. I remember now that some static problems I had did not occur with the Sovteks. That problem has now disappeared.

Another problem is now I have a premium module Little in my bedroom. I prefer that to the MG Head.

Unless you are in the habbit of bouncing the tube around while the filaments are still warm, there's no way it should've died in six months.

Sounds like Tesla "quality control" to me. I measured the triodes in the brand-new Tesla 12AX7 that came with my MG Head, and they weren't even close to matched.
