And by hacking, i mean taking something like the new upcoming samsung Personal Video Player, and upgrading it so it can play divx and xvid rather than just WMV like it is designed too?

Just a thought cos that player is sweet!!!!

I don't know if its possible, but you could always buy a Portable Media player (PMP) from iRiver which has support for a ton of codecs, much more than the windows edition (PMC). Though I don't know too much, maybe someone else can give a better answer.
