If Albert King does something for you you might check out some of his contemporaries such as:
Otis Rush
Freddie King
Magic Sam
Luther Allison
Jimmy Dawkins
Buddy Guy

How come I never heard of Albert King?

Who else am I missing out on?

Sadly...but honestly I think its because BB is still alive and playin and kinda overshadows alot of blues guitarist of his era with his longevity. Though they had similar style, Albert King is highly regarded as one of the grandmasters in blues guitar. Don't get me wrong, BB is a grandmaster as well...

Pick up Hendrix's "Blues" album...probably my favorite hendrix album. He does Albert Kings "Born Under a Bad Sign." Awesome!

I've heard Magic Sam and I have some Buddy Guy. Good stuff.

These are new to me,

Freddy King,

Otis Rush,

And I found Bernard Allison (Luther's son),

I like them all. Thanks.

This one?

Thanks I think I'll get it.

I've got a sound board recording of Red House from
Royal Albert Hall in 1969. 12 minutes of the best Hendrix I've heard.

Yeah, that's the one. Truely a must have for any hendrix fan or blues guitar fanatic. Happy listening.

Here are some excellent contemporary musicians who were directly influenced by the forefathers of the blues:

- Aynsley Lister
- Bill Perry (first two releases..)
- Lurrie Bell
- Eric Gales
- Lanc Lopez
- Buddaheads
- Carl Verheyen
- Gary Moore
- Scott Henderson (especially 'Dog Party')
- Tab Benoit
- The Allman Brothers Band (their first few releases and their last release 'Hittin' The Note')
- The Derek Trucks Band (especially 'Songlines')
- Coco Montoya

I'm sorry, but I'm too lazy to list individual names of releases. All of these artists are readily available though...

Regards
