Wow this thread is awesome, Tom! Full of valuable information not just for the GrubDAC, but I know it will be life-saving when I start to build my Grub for the Carrie USB I have planned :)

Believe it or not, there is even MORE on the GrubDac site. Check out the "Construction" tab at:

Hi TomB,

How hard would a microUSB be to implement instead of the miniUSB?  Would it fit on the PCB as is or would more be involved?

Thanks,

tomb has pointed out to me that my morning posting skills are not so good.

My fix should read something more like:
Quote:
No, that part (the microUSB) will not work. A mini-USB - is clearly specified on the GrubDAC BOM

Apologies for any confusion my mis-read may have caused.

Wow. Kudos! To everyone in the loop who led to this DAC++!
I love seeing the life here.
I've been... programming. Neon assembly & C, for cool stuff

but my lab was more fun!!

Are those caps really electrolytics or are they solid polymers? I can barely' find any thru-hole solids anywhere so that's why I was wondering.

Very nice soldering. I have to work on my own for sure.
