Hi

I picked up a CD from the bargain bin this weekend on spec and it turned out to be a real gem. Its a remastered "D & B Together" by Delaney and Bonnie. I didn't really know much about them, I had an LP version of one of Delaney's solo albums but haven't listned to it for years. This is a fantastic CD if you like late 60s early seventies stuff. The backing band features Eric Clapton and Leon Russell amongst others !!!
The whole album is a bit patchy but the tracks that are good are very very good.
The stand out track for me is Groupie (Superstar), I always thought this was a Carpenters original but it turns out that its written by Delaney, Bonnie and Leon Russell. Bonnie's version on this CD blows the Karen Carpenters version into the over produced weeds. What a voice this woman should be really famous.
In short or bargain and I'm on the lookout for more. I always like it when something I didn't expect much from turns out to be great.

Pat
