Hmm, I have been in the market for a DAC. I have read a reviewer mention the Fostex suffers from "background noise" while their laptop was doing some processing. Is this DAC that susceptible to EMI? I thought the reason to go external was to eliminate interference, no?

If there was noise on the 5v USB line it came from the computer not the Fostex.
