Here's the deal... I'm buying a new CD player this week probably, and had my eyes on two models: Rega Apollo and Cambridge Audio 740c.
Demoed both, kind of leaning towards the Apollo (in part considering all I've read about it). However, with HD600s and a Headfive amp, bass was noticeably leaner than on the 740c.
How does this bode for a match with the Graham Slee Solo? It's at the top of my list right now as next amp purchase, but I've read that it gives tight and controlled bass, which makes me fear that it's not going to have enough to work with and I'll end up with lacking bass in the whole spectrum.
Anybody with experience can help me here (or give an educated opinion)?
