I love my HD650 and lunchbox amp but when I listen to rock, I feel I could be hearing something with a little more character, especially after hearing what many say around here.

So I think I am about to spring for a pair of Grados, but not getting rid of my Senns of course.

So just how much of a difference will I actually hear between the SR125 and SR225 and SR325i?

I want that signature "Grado" sound, but I want it to sound good too! I probably have enough money now for a pair of SR225's but if I will get almost identical sound with the SR125, I'll get those, and if there is a big jump in performance with the SR325i, perhaps I will save a lil more money!

Thanks again

I have the 225, my friend has the 125. In comparison, I find the 225 to be a warmer, more enjoyable headphone, while the 125 is less bassy, very bright. The 225 is more detailed also. If you can spend the money for the 225, you won't be disappointed. Also, try to find it used in the FS/FT forum, they tend to go for around 150.

i auditioned all the grados in the presige series and I found that the 225s were the best for me. The 325i was too bright and the 125 seemed too lacking in everything except airyness when compared to the 225s and the 325is.

nothing beats testing them out yourself, but I recommend the 225s!

I tried all three at a down town Toronto store and found I liked the SR225s the best. The 325s felt heavy on my head and also a bit piercing for the high notes. The 125s did not feel as warm sounding as the 225s nor have the tight bass impact I was looking for. So another vote for the Grado SR225s!

I have had all of them at one time or the other and the only one I kept was the 225.I think its the best $200.00 (or less used or if you find a good deal) headphone out their today. The 125 was very bright and bass shy and the 325i while having good bass and good detail was way to bright. The 225 is jusat right.

THe 225's are a nice phone, easily amped and have a more natural sound to them than any of the other phones in the prestige line. I would definitely give my vote for the 225's. That said, if you are willing to plunk down the cash for a new set of 325i's...might you hold out for a used pair of RS2's or RS1's?
