at what level grado would i require a headphone amp?

for example would the sr 325's sound ok with or without?

please assist.

Welcome to head-fi,

I recently purchased the Sr325 from another headfier and think it doesn't need an amp to sound ok, although an amp improved the sound. I don't use an amp with my Md player, and the Grado performs pretty well out of the headphone jack. Oh yeah, forgot about the traditional Sorry for your wallet greeting.

sr325 sounds 90% out of a mediocre amp with a matching amp you can milk the last 10%. It's a very efficient brand!
