Do you people complain when you buy a car?

I mean it doesnt even come with a cardboard box!

If you have a problem with it, don't buy Grado, end of story.

Uh, not quite, buying anything is a tradeoff. What if somebody likes the sound but is turned off by the build quality or looks?

Whether or not somebody buys a particular headphone is a decision based on factors of: sound/build quality/looks/warranty/comfort/support etc. You just can't say that just because I dislike the looks and complain about it, I shouldn't buy it.

If they are buying a heaphone, it should be more about sound reproduction. If they are hung up on the fact that the product comes in a standard box and they have a few scratches here and there, then they should just look elsewhere. Apparently these people prefer looks over performance. I for one got the Grado's because I was blown away by the sound. I didn't even notice the light scratches under the pads and a few 'strings' of hot glue until I inspected them (after reading all this garbage). Guess what I could care less, they still sound great. Oh wait they have extra large globs of solder on the driver contacts...oh wait, THEY STILL SOUND GREAT.

In the end they sound awesome, I personally think they look bad @$$, and I have had zero reliability problems with them.

Yes, it is *more* about sound reproduction, but when there are plenty of other really great sounding headphones for the same money, the other factors have to come into play. It's never black and white.
