It's also not a "tube amp", it's a tube hybrid.

Just for my own sanity, I grabbed my copy of October 1992's Stereophile and to quote, "The audio signal is routed with both Grado's own proprietary cable as well as FMS 'zero core' hookup wire..."

Looks like we were both correct

Well, it appears that this card doesn't have SPDIF optical out, so if you want a DAC, it will have to be USB based.

Here is a thread on a budget DAC: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f7/my-...on-dac-371413/

You can buy the above DAC Here, if you don't like Ebay.

And another very similar to it: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f7/val...ssions-378459/

Alternatively, you could put all your money into an amp and use a mini to RCA from you sound card, but I don't think that would yield the best sound.

I have listened to grados through a darkvoice 336se, soha + jisbos, Bijou and a millet starving student.

The winner, was the starving student - good synergy with grados.

if you were talking senns then the bijou would be my first choice, and the millet starving student last place.

It actually seems to have a module which will give me an optical SPDIF
