I've had a pair of Grado 80i phones for a couple of years now and love them. When the time was right to upgrade my intention was to go up to the 325i but now I've got a job in an open plan environment and am thinking I probably need to go with something that isn't going to annoy anyone else. While I don't play stuff excessively loudly I do tend to get a bit self-concious if the volume's anything higher than a whisper.
Player is just an iPod classic through a Fiio e7 and I'm thinking B&W P5 or maybe AKG K550s but I'm open to any other auditioning suggestions around about that budget.
Of course, you know what I'm going to say - ideally the sound would be like the Grados
Or maybe I should just go for the 325i and sod the lot of them (and maybe I'll just play a lot of very quiet ambient).
