Hi all.

I've finally scraped enough $$$ to make my first audiophile grade headphone purchase.

First, I chose the SR80 but I did a little asking about its performance in gaming and they pointed me to the AD-700. Both are in the same price range and both have glowing reviews.

The problem is that some people say that the AD-700 is more suited to gaming than the Grado SR80. Is this true? Any Grado gamers out there who can tell if they're good?

It depends what music you listen to. If it's classical, AD700 all the way. If it's death screamo metal, it's a mixed bag. It matters how much bass you want. The AD700's bass is "anemic".

The AD700 is a much better gaming headphone than the SR80, hands down.

AD700 for gaming. Maybe the SR80 for music depending on what you listen to. I like the MS-1 more for music than the AD700 unless it is classical/orchestral. The DT440 is better than both though and not too much more expensive.
