Grado SR80e?

Yes, the SR80 measures just the same as the higher-end Grado headphones, but is a fraction of the cost. Of all the Grados I've owned, which is up the RS1e, the SR80 is the sweet spot. The earcups are what mainly shape the sound. The cushion pads, which the SR60 and SR80 come stock with, extend the bass. The bowl pads are not only uncomfortable, but make the Grado sound even brighter. Why they don't work on better pads and more quality control with their wooden headphones is beyond me.

There are some yellow cushion pads you can find that add a little more bass than the Grado cushion pads which you may want to look into.

You'll enjoy the SR80 especially if you listen to metal.
