Obviously the SR225e is better than the SR80e w/ L-Cush.

The question is, it is $80 better? If so why do you think.

Considering both and trying to determine if the SR225e is $80 better.

Anything specific I should listen for when comparing?

I have not heard the e series Grados.

With the i series Grados (and I believe this is true of the e series), the primary differences between the two models are pads, cabling, and better matched drivers in the higher model. The pads, IMO, are the most significant difference. I have compared the SR80i and SR225i by switching pads. To me, the SR80i gets 80 to 90% of the way to the SR225i sound by using the L-cush. If the difference in price is a burden to you or you want to spend the money on something else, get the SR80e and the L-cush and be happy :)
