A neighbor of mine lent me his portable Audible mp3 player for a book on tape. The book was Ringworld. I noticed that the sibilant sounds of the spoken word were grating on my ears. I saw the Radio Shack pad with quarter mod and decided that I would do that. The book's sound was MUCH better.
Unfortunately, when I listen to Led Zeppelin now the sound is no where near as epiphanic. Robert Plant's voice is now drowned out by the bass and the guitar. With the bowl pads his voice had so much more... 'oomph' in it. When I listen to Eric Clapton it sounds so much better. Far more... 'chill' is the word I want to use.
Well that's all for my impressions on the different pads.
PS: How can I clean the bowl pads? A good 32oz cup of Dr. Pepper spilled on one of the pads.
