Okay, I've been searching for some time now and I have yet to find a clear step by step guide on Grado mods... please help and thank you.

So far I did the quarter mod on the stock comply and I'm open to any other mods that will make the SR60 sound better! Thanks!

I bought bowls for my MS1 and MS2i and used black tape on the circumference on them. Added some bass, but not enough for me so I eventually sold it off. You can do the same, but it would cost a bit to get the bowl pads. Try quarter modded reversed HD414 pads?

Easiest and best bang for the buck mod for sr60s is to attach reversed bowl pads to the things. You don't get the shrill and anemic sound (relatively) of the normal bowl pads, and don't get the slightly bloated lower end of the comfy pads. Biggest downside is comfort, which takes some getting used to.

nothing made me love my SR60s (I tried everything) until I woodied them.

so now they're: blu-tack'd, basshead-modded (tape 3 times around) bowls, woodied and metal-grilled. I'm so satisfied I don't think I'll ever upgrade to RS-1s!

Have you heard the RS-1's to compare?

But I am glad to hear someone on head-fi being satisfied with a simplistic setup

(A lot of us lack to control the urges of upgradititis)

I have heard the RS-1's and liked them very much, but not enough to justify the $$. I feel my SR60s take me half the way there, so (in this economic climate) that's good enough.

too bad I'm broke, or I'd be reveling in Stax or K1000s...

After playing with the 325is I know my first over 1k headphone will be a Grado. I just love the sound so much.
