Hi, I read up on a few threads here about swapping the Sennheiser HD-414 earpads on the Grado models. Unfortunately, none of them mentioned how to mod the actual pads. Is there any specific way to get a nice clean cut on the HD-414 pads? And what should the size of the cut be? Any help is appreciated.

HI strid35, the best method that i like is Skippy's sock mod. from Headwise web site , go to projects -the collected grado headphone mods - scroll down to mods by Skippy. I use the sock mod with the stock pads that came with my grados and i still use it today . BIG difference so much warmer. If you have trouble finding this thread just pm me for the information.good luck

I seem to recall people saying they would place a quarter in the middle of the pad and cut around it with an x-acto knife. I have the Senn pads and I have done no mod to them. I prefer them over the bowl pads for my 80's.
