Just got these SR325i’s today so I’ve gone through a lot of different music in the last couple of hours or more, Talking Heads live, Micky Hart ‘s Planet drum, Best of New Order, Rammstein, Dave Holland and a few more
I was quite stunned by a performance of Stravinsky’s L’Oiseau de Feu on Orfeo, and also Works by George Crumb. I listened to these on the SR225’s but there was something missing, good but not great.
So far these are my “You are there phones” especially with classical music, a standing ovation. I was also surprised by the increase in stage depth compared to the SR225’s, they may be as good as the K501's but with much better extension.
Later I can sit in a comfy chair with the HD580’s and fall asleep.

i agree the sr325i's do great with acoustic music in general, although they can get congested with large orchestral recordings (maybe all headphones do this). smaller groups like quartets or solo piano can be incredible though.
