I currently have the Grado SR225e and I'm looking to upgrade my headphones. I've read a lot of good reviews for the X2.
What are the X2's like compared to the Grado's?

I'd say you're crazy to get rid of the Grados for the X2. I own the Grados, and have some experience with the X2.

It's not that the Grados are drastically better, they sound very similar in fact... but it's not worth selling or trading the Grados at a loss to get the X2.

IMO, you'd be better off getting a set of tonewood cups for the Grados. The sound will gain body, warmth and perceived dynamics.

I purchased mine from Yew Woodworks (and the quality was excellent), but there are many other suppliers.

This will get you much closer to an RS-1e...
