Grado SR125 is to SR225 as Sennheiser HD580 is to HD600?

I'm a little confused..

The difference between the Grados is that the SR225 has drivers which are more closely matched and has better airflow than the SR125. The SR225 seems to be regarded as the better headphone the majority of the time, as the SR125's are not nearly as popular or recommended nearly as much.

The difference between the Sennheisers is the same, closely matched drivers and better airflow on the HD600 vs the HD580, but why does there seem to be less difference in sound quality? It seems that quite a few people say the HD580's are almost identical in SQ to the HD600. Shouldn't the HD600's also be regarded as the better phone if the Grado SR225 is?

Or, does that mean if you replace the mesh on the back of the SR125's, you get SR225 quality sound?
