Ok I notice most people say Sennheiser cans are crap and filt.

I have to be honest if this is the case Senn should just close down for making garbage.

But however can anyone tell me if the grado is noticeably better?

The HD555 are double the price of the Grado SR 80 so how then can the SR 80 be a trillion times better than the HD555?

Anyone owns both and can comment on the Bass is it noticeably better to the average human ears? And if the Grado are better why then is sennheiser HD 555 double the price?

There's no rhyme or reason when it comes to the price of audio gear. Remember, "sorry about your wallet" is this forum's motto.

I tried an SR60 and loved it, but I've never tried any other Grado, or any Senn for that matter. Others on this forum hate the SR60, though. It all boils down to your own auditory system and musical preferences.

Depends what you use it for. For music SR80 seems to be the choice over HD555, but for music and movies, HD555

It depends on your preference... i tried SR80 before buying HD555 and i liked how they handle rock but but but..they are too bright and hurt my ears within 5 mins..

HD555 can be heard for 8 hours straight with no sweat & no fatigue.

depending on your budget u can checkout HD595 which are more upfront with music and sound brighter.

Everyone keeps saying the HD555 was not designed to play music how it was for movies and stuff and hence it has no bass.

But I personally find its the best bass I ever heard in my life.

in terms of bass is the HD555 good for BASS?

I already bought it btw I just want to compare to SR 80

1. HD555's have more defined and better quality bass. SR80's might sound bloated sometimes.

2. SR80's have much more impact than 555's, hence listening to rock and metal is better with them..

1. HD555's have a BETTER and wide soundstage than 80's and watching movies with them is more engaging.

2. 555's don't have a much prominent bass but it's satisfactory.

Grados for music but senns for movies. They work brilliantly with movies.

I wouldn't choose the HD555 over the SR-80 for anything. Amped really well or out of an iPod the Grado is the better headphone.

I noticed the HD555 is remarkably impressive. Infact I heard car audio that cannot compare to these cans.

Plus the vocals on these HD555 is so impressive its like the singer is right here. Its like I am in the studio or something. I admit the bass may not be the best in the world but I heard Pioneer champion series 15" Car audio subs 2000 RMS.

And the HD555 actually sound better than them. Infact the bass on the HD555 goes lower and deeper.

So seriously I highly doubt I made a bad purchase here I love these cans besides its twice the price of the grado SR80 is so since I got 50% off on the HD555 on Amazon I said what the heck why not.

In any event even though it may play movies good it can handle music extremely incredible. Heck I even heard Klipsch Home audio that cost 7 times the price that cannot compare to these cans.
