The Shure 846's are nearly double the price, but they are touted for their bass performance. Would the Grado RS2e be able to match its bass performance or out perform it? I'm assuming that the Grado's out do the Shure's in term of soundstage because it is not IEM.

I have the 846's. I think they are great in every way except the sound stage. If that's important to you, then maybe you should look elsewhere.
