Hey, guys. I just picked up a Grado RA1 for the heck of it, and it sounds pretty great with most of my Grado headphones. Although, I don't think it has very good synergy with my Alessandro MS1s... It sounds kinda' harsh at times. So anyway, I'm just curious why this headphone amp holds such high value in the used market when essentially every forum will talk about the cheap internals and bad build quality etc. I spent over $250 for it which many of you will laugh at me, because I'm sure there are plenty of 'better' amps for the money, but I just wanted to hear it for myself. I've owned several clones and none of them sound like an RA1. Thoughts?

The RA1 sure gets a fair amount of criticism around here however I think it sounds great with Grados... Not sure about how it pairs with non-Grado phones.
