It's not available in their webshop, though. Oh well, I'll just ask them about availability and let you know.

OK, I now have an answer from phonophono stating that their supplier says that he has the PS-1 in stock. So it should be able to ship within a week or two at most.

The site says also that they ship worldwide. This might of course not be the case for the PS-1 should there be some restrictions mady by Grado or whoever. I didn't ask about that specifically. Should there really be restrictions I don't think we can't get past them

Hey fastjack, buddy.

soon to be one of the grado family.

i don't agree with you. if someone outside of germany really wants that set of cans, he has his ways. a german can buy that set of cans and easily sell them again to somebody who lives outside germany, the eu or the usa. you see, there's allways a way to get around.

I think that's what Fastjack meant.

It's the use of a double negative that's confusing but I gathered he meant there is always a way to get around the restrictions.

You'd better to buy it from USA...Headroom for example has it for 625$. Even if you add shipping costs and taxes, I think you won't approach 998 €!
Grados are not so easy to find directly...at least in Switzerland...never seen them in a shop...most dealers don't even know what these "Grados" are! Sennheisers are much more known.

The Grado PS-1 Pro is, along with the great RA-1, nothing short of the best dynamic headphone, that I have ever heard. That this professional piece of work is fully capable and is in perfect harmony with every headphone jack, makes it even better.

Amazing: Other than Grado, there is no one the world over that so well accepts tones as well as headphones of absolute highest class. Even more amazing: With the PS-1 Pro comes a very particular delicatessen to Germany, that officially does not exist. (me talking here: He said it himself...it officially does not exist).

The pros of the sound studio are sometimes a little hardheaded. A "work headphone" (me talking here: sample to be tested) can sound outstandingly good and robust - if it consists of the "wrong" material, argues the demanding *no clue what the next word means; insert noun* of the tried and true construction. Heavy, screwed (me talking: by this I mean with screws and not the adjective) headphones out of aluminum, for example, enjoy in this niche, a better note as those out of light, aesthetic, wrought exotic woods, or simply out of synthetics...even if in all cases Grado is accused.

Quote:

I've translated the first 3 paragraphs, since I am German and speak it daily. I have lived in Atlanta for the past 13 years however.

Let me know if I should continue....

Good job. A few corrections, if you allow:
second paragraph:
"Amazing: Other than Grado, there is no other manufacturer worldwide that produces top class phono cartridges as well as headphones."

third paragraph:
If it's made of the "wrong" material, the demanding 'mixer guild' will prefer to resort to tried and tested designs. In these circles heavy, screwed, aluminum headphones enjoy a far better reputation than those made of light, artfully crafted exotic wood, or even plastic. Even if there's a Grado logo on all of them.
