They're very enjoyable in some respects...fantastic dynamics, very open sound. But on the downside they (except the 1000s) don't have a very 3D soundstage.

I used the SR60's for gaming for a little while back when I had it, and it was enjoyable in few aspects, such as in clarity and vividness in sound, but ultimately the lack of soundstage, positioning and long-term comfort was a killer for me. Moved on to D1001 from there (worked ok for something closed), then finally to AD700 and haven't looked back since.

The D1001 is a good gaming phone.
The HARX900 would be better if it wasn't so heavy. It's still good for gaming sessions of 2 hours or less.

HF2's with jumbo pads are awesome for gaming. i use it for FPS's because it has a very 3D, accurate and precise soundstage. probably has something to do with the pads (like the GS/PS 1000). i like them better than the K701's.

My MS-1 isn't bad for gaming. My AD700 is much more comfortable for extended use and has a more 3D soundstage though. The MS-1 on the other hand is more engaging and can be more fun if not playing competitively.

I have only tried the lowest grado models - I doubt if my conclusion can be extrapolated to the rest of the family, these are awful for gaming. The SR-60s were very fun and placed you right in the game; however, when you take it into the multiplayer circuit it is difficult to position and it becomes fatiguing (as the sound appeared a bit off to me). The iGrados had less merits in the gaming world. While they are wonderful to listen to they are not gaming phones.

I've heard really good things about the audio technica ath-ad700s for gaming.
I can't confirm it personally, but my sources are reliable, they are pretty good for positional audio, and very comfortable.

They are on amazon marketplace for 65 refurbed right now.
