Saw this at the Grado website:

In 2003 Grado will celebrate
50 years of manufacturing products
that offer top value to the consumer.
We look forward to the next 50 years
of keeping the tradition alive.

Anyone know of any special headphones that will come out??

Thanks!

I'm sure many would prefer that the R&D budget for such a headphone be invested in R&D for pads that actually pad

Nakamichi made a gold plated ltd (100 only) version of their 1000ZXL cassette deck in the early '80's.I've seen one for sale recently for £3500 Ser No 003.

Perhaps Grado could do the same

Hehe.. that, and it might be cheaper than the current runs are running..

But it'd probably come with one of Grado's "Comfy" or "Bowl" pads..

I would want a limited edition SR325...with the same headband as RS2/RS1...some new pads....and maybe a new even better cable!

My wish to Grado for its 50th anniversary is to bring back the old flat donut pads as an option (if not stock) on its SR-series headphones...

...and maybe bring out a gold-plated (or perhaps 24K solid gold!!!) "Limited Edition" version of its most expensive phono cartridge (The Statement)!

When I compared the SR325 with the RS1, I believed it was the same leather headband.

Isn't the RS1 headband larger and more comfortable? I know that both are made of leather though...

being broke (and cheap) id like to see them do a limited edition of the classic SR60. maybe step up the materials a bit, keep the ear cup size the same but use the SR325 aluminum, and bowl pads

$100 or less would be nice, but i dont know how much that aluminum costs for them to use

more stringently spec'd driver matching, cable, and diaphragm & chamber material (ie. metal) in a Prestige Series phone - as to not upset the high status of the Reference Series ones.

The resurrection of the HP-1000 would be good. I would buy one with something special about it for ~500ish. Then we can debate the qualities of Joe's and John's best phones. That'll move more #s of each perhaps?

How about a tiny RA-1 for better portability? The only space hog is the pair of Solens.

wooden beer helmet attachment for your phones. Um, no not that one. That would clash with my bling bling aight!

What they should do is drop their prices. Those upper end models don't need to dip so deep in the pocket.

Less greed for the next the 50 years would be a good gift to all.
