There is more bass, but not by that much. I'm not really a basshead, but I did find the Denons more realistic sounding in terms of bass quantity.

The flats will put the driver on your ear. I don't like the comfort compared to bowls but they do put out more bass.

Another tweak is to put electrician's tape on the outer diameter of the bowls for more bass foundation.

If for any reason I'm dissatisfied with the 325is's bass, then I will try the tape mod. I

The 325i deliver an incredibly fast and detailed treble, but overall a treble-emphasized sound. IMHE, they had jumpy, moving midbass, but no deep bass to speak of.

IMHE, the contrast between the 325i's exceptional treble performance--and make no mistake, their high frequency detail, extension and agility are truly amazing--and their modest-by-comparison bass performance seems to make the bass "stand out" in a virtual manner, if you will.

In terms of overall bass balance, and bass reach, I'd give the nod to the K701 (alluding to your other thread). However, if you're mainly listening to fast, rocky venues, then the 325i will not disappoint. Since I listened to "classical" and jazz quite a bit, the treble-tipped signature of the 325i ultimately proved fatiguing for me, that's all.

The D2000 offer very good, true-to-source bass, IMHE, and overall a fairly balanced signature with just a touch of forwardness that makes for a lively listen. I really liked mine for "classic" rock and pop.
