I am a headphone newbie and with my taste in music pretty much set on Grado , I can get the 325i for £209 here in England and the 225 for £ 139 . Question is are the 325s worth £80 extra , both would be used without amps on equipment in sig.

Cheers
Paul

All the Prestige models sound similar to some degree. I hear the 325i's are brighter than the 225s. The 225s seem to be highly praised on this board as a high-value headphone. I don't think paying almost twice as much would be worth it. The 325's probably don't sound even close to twice as good as the 225s. I think my 225's sound practically the same as my 60s (slightly better detail and realism).

Plus the 325s are A LOT heavier.

Both work well unamped, but can improve with amping.

To be fair that's not the same question as he was talking about a swap not paying £ 80 more.

Well I've plumped for the 225s with extended cable , I can use the spare cash to get more comfortable pads if I struggle with them.
