Hey so this may be the wrong section, if so, my bad. Im setting up a HT/Music room for my family, and happen to work at an electronics store, where I get a large discount on certain brands. The point of this thread is to see if anyone knows of a better solution or possible setup for the room. Will be used majority for Home theater, but also some music listening, which I am a bit of a basehead.

Current Plans:
5.1 Sound, room size 10x12x9

Receiver: Marantz SR5009, 100Watts RMS
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_642SR5009/Marantz-SR5009.html?showAll=N&search=marantz_sr5009&skipvs=T

Speakers: Polk RTI A3 Bookshelves

Center Channel: Polk CSI A4
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107CSIA4B/Polk-Audio-CSi-A4-Black.html

Surrounds: Polk OWM3 Speakers
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107OWM3B/Polk-Audio-OWM3-Black.html

Subwoofer: Klipsch R-12SW
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_714R12SW/Klipsch-Reference-R-12SW.html?tp=187

I really need to stick to Polk/Klipsch/Marantz/Sony/Yamaha(major brands really) otherwise no discount.

Anyone have any opinions, or think I should go a different route?

First off, I'll ask the mods to move this to the Speaker etc section. Next, we can't "grade" the system without hearing it in-room, but we can point out a few concerns or certain things you might have overlooked.

1. Scroll down the Crutchfield page for the RTi A3 - the recommended center channel is the CSi A6, hyperlinked. You'd want as close as possible tonal match because the dialogue can pan between the three front speakers and its' a lot easier to hear if the center is tonally different enough from the mains.

2. Note the deals on Polk Audio subwoofers if you buy all Polk speakers - it appears on the top of the page of the RTi A3 and CSi A4/6 when I opened the pages.

Hey sorry about that. But yeah thats basically what I meant, I know of course you guys can't actually tell me how good it would sound, but I just wanna make sure there are no glaring faults. With the CSI4 vs CSI6, I think they were both matched to that series of speakers, as polk does have a TSX series thats specifically designed for HT. The biggest difference to my knowledge is, one is bigger, handles more wattage, and designed for larger rooms.

On the subs, yes this is very true for most people, but I am going through a separate website than Crutchfield, I'm just using it to show the items and etc.. I am looking at the klipsch as it supposedly is more efficient, powerful, and goes lower than most of the polks in its price range.

Thanks, DD.
