True, in regard primarily to the power cords, power conditioning etc. Though with an integrated DAC/amp like the m902, I would think that variation in CDP/DAC/cables are less (if any) of a factor.

From my experiences, transport justifies sonic signature and room for resolution. Thus CD transport plays very evil part that most yet believe ineffective.

Well, yes, I would understand that a transport and digital cable can make a difference, though not sure if enough to make an amp sound "mediocre".
