Just tested my Grace (using my CD3000 -- these are pretty sensitive phones). No hum at all. Light hiss at maximum volume. Undetectable at any listenable volume. This unit performs exactly as needed.

I'll test my Grace with a CD3000 when I get a chance to confirm, since both of you are using them. That will be apples to apples comparison there.
