I need a pair of beaters to go to school everyday and I decided to set my budget at $40. I have set my eyes on the vsonic GR02 ($35), however I have since spotted the JVC HA-FX40, a more bang for your buck pair ($18). I will take any recommendations. I want a clear, clean listening experience with a slight boost in the low end. Thanks in advance for the help!

The GR02 Bass seem to exactly fit your needs then.

If you don't mind spending double then the gr02 seems like the better choice. Build quality on the gr02 looks a lot better.

I have the FX40's and like them a lot. If you don't plan on burning them in for at least 200hrs, don't get them. These NEED burn-in and its not a myth with these IEM's. They don't isolate well with the stock tips except for the included memory foam tips. You get a good seal (find the right tips), these sound amazing for the price.
